Why Blaire Created the Forum"The Human Rights Forum was created out of a desire to stimulate discourse and inform my peers about pressing human rights issues that were not addressed in class. I wanted to supplement knowledge gained in the classroom and harness it into something useful to educate, inform, and incite change. With the unwavering support of Mrs. Lindsey Cullins and Ms. Angela Hardy, I was able to fulfill this desire: a safe, intellectually engaging space was created on campus to encourage discussion and activism about various human rights issues— domestic and international. I never imagined that this fledgling school club would develop into such a sophisticated organization that would execute several fundraising initiatives and activist campaigns in the two short years after its inception. I am very proud of the progress achieved by the Forum and am excited for the inevitable accomplishments that will be made in the years to come."
